Natural Newborn Photography London | newborn photoshoot East London

Olina contacted me a while ago to book in a newborn photoshoot. Her request was straightforward: she wanted some natural, documentary-style pictures of their 7 week old baby boy. The new parents live in East London so a few months back I took the train from Hove to Victoria and spent a couple of hours in their lovely apartment in Mile End.

It was a dark and wet day (as with so many this summer!) and it was a shame we couldn’t head out to go for a stroll in Mile End Park, but we had such a lovely, fun and relaxed shoot at home that it didn’t matter.

In our pre-consultation call Olina asked me what happens when babies are tired and need a nap during the photoshoot (a question I get a lot!). I always tell clients that I totally follow their baby’s needs, that’s why my newborn shoots are slightly longer than my Slice Of Life Family Shoots.

When it’s time for your baby’s nap, we take a little break, and I will just stay a bit longer. As Felix was only 15 weeks old at the time of the photoshoot, he did have a little power nap when I was there which meant I could enjoy a nice cup of coffee. :-)
