Brighton Family Photo Shoot | Discovering The Lanes with Isabella
Kicking off the first blog of 2024 with a lovely family photo shoot I did for Isabella and her parents. They live all the way in Hong Kong, but were in the UK over the holidays to visit family in Hove and wanted some natural, unposed family portraits of their stay. We picked a cold but lovely sunny day in December and decided to go and explore The Lanes in Brighton. I love taking families here during a photo session - although most of the time I get lost!
Brighton's iconic Lanes are renowned for their charming narrow streets, historic architecture, and an eclectic mix of shops and boutiques. While some spots may be more well-known, there are definitely some hidden gems that make a perfect setting for a documentary family photo shoot! One of them is “The Duck House Brighton” - a quirky haven for duck lovers tucked away in a corner of The Lanes. Here you will find over 400 different types of imaginative rubber ducks. There's one for everyone! Isabella took her time and eventually decided to go for “Spiderman Duck” - good choice Isabella!
I am so glad we went to The Lanes early in the morning, as it was peak time Christmas shopping in Brighton so we managed to document our stroll before it got too busy! As it was such a gorgeous day, and the light was really nice and soft, we also wanted to include the beach in our photo session. So we slowly made our way to the Brighton Pier and headed for the beach - where Isabella’s grandma joined us as well.
To finish off this documentary family photo shoot we went back into the Lanes to get ourselves some hot chocolates (there might have been pancakes as well). It really was the perfect way to end a great year and I can’t wait to see what 2024 has to offer!
