London Bridge Newborn Photography | Documenting Life As A Family Of Three

At home newborn photography in London Bridge. New parents holding their newborn baby boy in their arms during a natural documentary type newborn baby photoshoot in London.

Booking a newborn photoshoot is a chance to capture the first days of parenthood in a way that feels genuine and timeless. Newborn babies grow and change so quickly, making it all the more important to document those fleeting early weeks of family life.

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful baby boy, just two weeks old, at his home near London Bridge. Traveling to London for shoots is always a highlight for me. London Bridge is just an hour’s train ride from Hove, and I love pairing work with a chance to catch up with friends in the city. Walking by the Thames, taking in the iconic skyline, and wandering through Borough Market always brings back fond memories of my decade living in London.

For this particular session, we embraced a rather rainy day. While low light can sometimes be a challenge for indoor photography, I was glad the house had more than enough natural light to work with. When I arrived, the little one was peacefully asleep in his cot, so I began by capturing those moments. As he stirred awake, it was time for an outfit change. I always keep my camera ready during these transitions - moments like these, whether it’s a nappy change, a feed, or a quick kiss on the forehead, often make for the best documentary style newborn photos.

During the session, I also took a few special portraits with the baby’s grandmother, who had traveled all the way from Italy to meet her new grandson. It was a joy to document the connection between the generations. Then, before I knew it, it was time to wrap up.

If you’re a London family considering a newborn session, I’d be delighted to help tell your family’s story in a way that feels natural and honest. Although I’m Brighton-based, it’s easy for me to hop on a train to London Bridge or Victoria. Whether you’re in South London or beyond, if you’re expecting a little one and you would love to document their first weeks in this world, I’d love to hear from you!
