Documentary family photographer Sussex | family garden photos
So far we have had a pretty hot Summer here in the UK. At home photo sessions can be quite challenging when temperatures rise above 30 degrees - houses here are just not made for heat waves! Luckily Anna’s home had a massive garden where the kids could cool off in a paddling pool. Otherwise I would probably have ended up with only some photos of the kids in front of a fan! :-)
When I spoke to Anna during her consultation call she was looking for a family photographer who could take a few natural family portraits in the garden as well as documenting a typical Saturday morning in their house. I offer both so it was a perfect fit. The family portraits were a gift for her mum’s 70th birthday, so for the second part of the shoot her sister and her family also came over.
When I arrived on the day of the photoshoot her eldest, Luca, opened the door and welcomed me with a coffee he made all by himself. It was honestly really good! :-) Anna and her husband have three kids under 5 which is great when you’re after those “real life” documentary family shots.
As it was such a hot day, we spent most of our time in the garden. The older kids played some basketball whilst their baby sister was exploring the shady bits of the garden. I am really pleased with how these photos turned out, below you’ll find a selection of my favourites. Hope you’re all having a lovely Summer!
