Newborn Photography Brighton | Natural newborn session at home | Unposed newborn photography Sussex
Back in August I had the pleasure of photographing baby Martha and her parents in Hove. She was about fourteen weeks old when we did the shoot, which is a lovely age for a newborn photographer to take photos. She was so alert and smiley! Whilst four month old babies obviously aren’t sitting up yet, they do have great neck strength, so there are possibilities for gorgeous pictures as they play with their parents or do ‘tummy time’.
This newborn photography session was wonderful - a happy baby girl and a beautiful home in the heart of Hove. It was a cloudy but warm day, so I decided to cycle to the shoot, all along the seafront, which only took me about 10 minutes. We started the newborn photoshoot at home which I normally do, to let the little ones get to know me whilst they are in their own environment.
During the time we spent at home, we moved between different rooms to get a good variety of pictures. When I’m photographing newborns and their families, I like to create a variety of images, portraits and photos of the family together - and also some environmental portraits. Hove beachfront is just perfect for this. After we spent about an hour at home, taking lots of natural and unposed family portraits, we took a stroll to the beach. The environmental family portraits include Hove beach, with the BA i360 Viewing Tower and the Brighton Palace Pier and West Pier in the background. Martha seemed to really enjoy the photoshoot and didn’t fall asleep once!
A fun photoshoot from start to finish and I can’t wait for more in the future as this little girl grows up.
