Family Photographer East Dulwich | London family photoshoot with a documentary approach
A fun and relaxed family photoshoot in East Dulwich on the blog today! This photoshoot was postponed a couple of times due to Covid, but finally happened last month. Briony and Andy are about to move out of South East London, so they really wanted me to snap a few memories of their East Dulwich home. I’m always so excited to go back to my old neighbourhood, I love East Dulwich, and know it very well.
When photographing families I always like to start our documentary family photoshoot in the home. This way the family can get used to me and my camera in a safe and familiar environment. Briony booked in a 2 hour Slice Of Life session with me and their little girl couldn’t have been more excited for the photoshoot! We played in the garden, made some iced coffees and did drawing together - before heading out to explore Dulwich Park.
At this time of year Dulwich Park is full of gorgeous colourful flowers, which make an excellent backdrop for some informal family portraits. The rhododendrons were in full bloom and smelled lovely! As it was quite a hot and sunny afternoon we had no choice but to finish our family photo session with a little visit to the ice cream van.
If you live in or around East Dulwich and you would like me to photograph you and your family then I’d love to hear from you! For my family photoshoots I travel all over London, but my old neighbourhood East Dulwich is one of my favourite locations. As a documentary family photographer it is my job to make the whole experience a very relaxed, fun and natural event. In the SE22 area there is so much to do for children, we can play crazy golf at the Horniman Museum together, do some dinosaur hunting in Crystal Palace Park or visit the playground in Peckham Rye Park. Pick something that you, as a family, would like to do together, and I will make sure you’ll end up with some gorgeous natural, unposed, family photos!
